Classic DeLizza & Elster Design

This vintage Juliana brooch features a flower design with aurora borealis rhinestones set in gold-tone metal. Created by DeLizza & Elster, this piece combines clear navette-cut stones with iridescent AB crystals for a dimensional, light-reflecting design typical of their renowned 1950s-60s costume jewelry.

Product Details:

The brooch features a floral motif, with nanette-cut clear rhinestones forming elegant petals that radiate from a central aurora borealis crystal. The flower is beautifully framed by concentric circles of smaller round-cut AB rhinestones that create a spectacular halo effect. Each stone catches and reflects light differently, producing an enchanting rainbow shimmer reminiscent of the Northern Lights.

Key Features:

  • Authentic Juliana/DeLizza & Elster design (circa 1950s-1960s)
  • Gold-tone metal setting with secure prong construction
  • Central aurora borealis round crystal with prismatic effect
  • Ten navette/marquise-cut clear rhinestone petals
  • Double row of graduated AB rhinestones creating circular frame
  • Approximately 2 inches in diameter
  • Sturdy pin-back closure with safety catch
  • All original stones intact and secure

Styling Notes:

Perfect for adding vintage sophistication to modern wardrobes. Wear it centered on a blazer lapel, at the shoulder of a little black dress, or use it to secure a pashmina wrap. The neutral tones and prismatic stones complement both day and evening wear.

Collector's Note:

Juliana jewelry, produced by DeLizza & Elster from 1947 to the 1990s, is highly sought after by collectors for its quality construction and innovative designs. While pieces were not originally signed, they are identifiable by their distinctive construction methods and design elements. Aurora borealis rhinestones were developed in 1955 through a collaboration between Swarovski and Christian Dior, making Juliana pieces featuring these stones particularly collectible.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with all stones present, secure settings, and functioning clasp. Slight coloring on a couple of stones that are normal for age.
